Genesis

The following instructions describe the steps involved in getting the Genesis demonstration application installed and operational for Windows OS.

1. System Requirements

Genesis requires a Java Standard Edition 1.6 or latter. The full Java Development Kit is required which can be downloaded from: here.

2. Install Genesis

Download and extract the latestest Genesis application archieve here.

Once the Genesis genesis-{version}.tar.gz files have been downloaded from the homepage and extracted to a suitable directory (e.g. C:\genesis-{version}). To test the installation navigate to the genesis root and execute the genesis.cmd to show usage. Note that due to Windows path and file length limitations you may experience problems extracting the genesis tar ball. We recommend that you use Cygwin or WinRAR to extract the tar ball.
